Job description: About NUMUS: NUMUS is a cultural incubator that brings unique new music experiences to adventurous audiences and artistic communities. Based in Waterloo Region, NUMUS produces and presents emerging and established Canadian artists in order to promote a Canadian voice in the new music world and expose audiences to original and overlooked sounds. There is no other arts organization in our community with a similar vision or mandate that operates year-round. NUMUS is a charitable non-profit with an Artistic Director, General Manager, and Social Media Coordinator as staff. We are looking for an experienced General Manager to join our team.Responsibilities:

• Prepare budgets and projections for current and future fiscal years.
• Collaborate with the Artistic Director to prepare budgets for grant applications.
• Enter all transactions into QuickBooks and coordinate with the NUMUS accountant to prepare the annual return.
• Keep CADAC up to date with current fiscal year and future projections, including statistics.
• Handle payroll for NUMUS employees, including source deductions and filing quarterly remittance with CRA.
• File T4 and T4A annually as required.
• File HST returns (yearly) with CRA.
• File Charities Directorate forms annually (T3010 and T1235).
• File RC232 form annually and update the current board member list with the province of Ontario.
• Issue cheques for all financial obligations approved by the board. Where cheques are not accepted, pay personally and fill out expense reports for reimbursement by NUMUS.
• Deal with the bank should any issues arise.
• Ensure that insurance is up to date and forward certificates to venues as requested.
• Keep the board informed of current developments, activities, and short-term goals of administration at each monthly board meeting.
• Update the NUMUS website as needed (Wordpress).
• Create ticket links on Square.
• Create and print concert programs for each concert throughout the season.
• Manage concert venues, including picking up keys, unlocking the venue for artists, being present during setup, and cleaning and locking up the venue after the concert.
• Handle box office operations at each concert, including managing box office volunteers, bringing cash float for ticket/merch sales, keeping records of tickets sold/attendance, and paying artists and sound technicians.
• Arrange accommodation for artists as required.
• Work with the board of directors to arrange monthly board meetings (time/date).
• Keep records up to date on the NUMUS hard drive, including downloading monthly bank statements and maintaining a photo archive of concerts.
• Store all physical receipts, forms, and other NUMUS property (box office box, bankers boxes, cheque book, T-shirts, etc.).
• Keep and answer the NUMUS phone.
• Write tax receipts for donations.
• Book sound technicians for concerts as required and rent/drop off equipment as needed.
• Maintain the NUMUS mailing list (MailChimp).
• Check the NUMUS post office box on a regular basis (Waterloo, ON).
• Manage all operations of the organization and perform all duties as requested by the board of directors and the president of the organization.

Salary$19,000-$21,000 / yrHours of work are approximately 15 hours/week but can vary depending on the time of year. Some weekend/evening availability is required.

Expected salary: $19000 – 21000 per year
