In addition, the successful candidate will be responsible for providing care to patients in the PACU and Surgical Day Care and Pre-Admission Clinic.Qualifications

• Current registration in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario
• Current Heart & Stroke approved Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required at time of hire
• ACLS Certification required at time of hire and ongoing
• Recent Surgical Day Care nursing experience preferred.
• Recent PACU nursing experience preferred.
• Critical Care Nursing course and/or PACU course required.
• Coronary Care 1 and 2 preferred
• Experience with administering IV drugs below the drip chambers, central lines, Epidural/ PCA pump, ECG machines, invasive pressure monitoring required.
• Experience with phlebotomy, paracentesis, and other ambulatory care procedures.
• Ability to interpret advanced arrhythmias
• Strong patient assessment skills essential
• Must possess excellent decision making & critical thinking skills
• Flexible, good team player with positive attitude.
• Ability to function in a fast-paced environment.
• Caring attitude with patients, families and co-workers.
• Satisfactory employment and attendance record required.

Additional InformationHours: Monday to Sunday – Various rotating shifts– Days and Evenings — 7.5 hour shifts.
